I cannot understand how albums from Elton John (Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Honky Chateu...etc.), Rush (Moving Pictures, Permanent Waves, Hemispheres) and The Who (Tommy and Quadrophenia) did not make the list at all. Those should all easily be top 10.

The Manics as far as I know really aren't known in the US, but The Holy Bible - I've been listening to that able pretty much constantly for 30 years now. It's one of those albums that for a lot of people has ended up becoming a fundamental part of their psyche and their souls and they would be very different people today if it didn't exist. It was an incredible piece of absolute bleakness and horror written by someone who very likely committed suicide shortly afterwards (no body was ever found; he's officially missing). Jagged, indigestible, awful, beautiful. I can't think of anything else that's so written through with genuine despair.

I actually made it a goal to listen to every album with 20K ratings or more by the end of the year. I wanted to listen to them in order to get a sense of how music progressed, but theres a lot of albums I skipped due to lack of interest. I think Im about 40 albums behind, on a plan of one a day.

Lists like this are absolutely ridiculous. The fact that probably all the albums in lists or charts like this are all in English just goes to show that people really don't understand just how much music there is around the world. I could name a few albums and artists from around the world working with different languages and people would agree with me that they have some of the most iconic and best albums ever put out. However, would that make them the GOAT? Of course not, list like this could definitely show that some albums stand out, but to take this list and rank albums is borderline a crime to music.
